IT 111-lab exercise(august 2)

1. Students use a search engine to find information about who invented the microprocessor.
2. Students investigate the computer’s power management settings and create a report on what they discover.
3. Create a list of components and features that the student should consider when purchasing a computer. They then explain why they made these selections.
4. Students are  to prepare a report on solid-state storage and how it works.
5. Students are to investigate teleconferencing technology.
6. Students are to compare solid-state storage to magnetic and optical storage media. They are to express an opinion indicating whether they think solid-state storage will replace the other types of storage.

answers:
1.the inventor of micro processor is  Marcian Edward 'Ted Hoff' Jr.at (1971).
2.Active State Power Management or ASPM is a power management protocol used to manage PCI expressed-based serial link devices as links become less active over time. It is normally used on laptops and other mobile internet devices to extend battery life.
3.1.) How much are you ABLE to spend? Stay in your price range. 2.) Windows, Apple or Linux? If you're new to computers you may want to go for Windows or Mac, Advanced users normally go Linux. (for you so called advanced users ALL OS'S is not good. choose one that makes you feel like a guru :) ) 3.) Dell, Gateway, Apple or locally built? The big corps are good but you might be impressed with a small shop near you neighbor hood! the biggest advantage with a small shop is, if it has problems you can get it fixed faster and phone support is way faster.
4.A solid-state drive (SSD) is a data storage divice that uses solid state memory to store persistent data with the intention of providing access in the same manner of a traditional block i/o hard disk drive.
5. The holding of or participation in a conference, often through computer or telecommunications technology.
6.a solid state storage is a data storage that uses solid state memory while the magnetic storage store data magnetically and lastly optical storage has a storage of large amount of data.
